008

In celebration of the holiday, I went to mass with my mother and father this morning. While I wasn't particularly moved by the sermon or other such things - I haven't been for many years now - the music was superb. I spoke with the organist after the mass and he asked for a favor. Appears him and his wife will be taking a couple weeks vacation and he wanted to know if I would be willing to take over the organ duties. I was surprised. I haven't attended church in such a long time; I am surprise I was a candidate.

I did agree. I accepted partly as a favor to my old organ teacher, but mostly for the chance to perform on the church organ. It is a beautiful instrument.

I am well, thank you for your concern. So sorry for the late response, I haven't had the chance to do much of anything but work this past week. Are things well with you?

Please don't text me. I feel better talking here. I hope you are taking care as well.

006 Baking

I did some baking for Valentine's. I enjoy baking; it's therapeutic. Being in the kitchen also gives me a perfect view of my birthday gift. Baking and fine art, quite a nice combination.

These things can be so personal. A complete stranger could know exactly what is happening in your life or, in some cases, what once happened. It wouldn't be too surprising to have someone approach you with that knowledge. Must be unnerving.

004 Midnight Party

It's midnight and I am having cake to celebrate my birthday. A Mrs. Callahan is celebrating with me. Interestingly enough, her birthday was yesterday. I'm eating a piece of cake for her too.

It's times like these I wish Jessi were still here. Those of you with pets are lucky.

002 Excitement

I'm beginning to love this New Year.

By chance I overheard a couple discussing art today and I've learned that a gallery here in Seattle is featuring pieces by Clive Darcy. He's my favorite artist and I finally get to see his art up close. While there are some nice hi-resolution images online of his work it just isn't the same as standing right in front of it. It will open this Saturday and go for about a month or so. I have a feeling I will be visiting the exhibit a few times over the course of the month.

001 Another one bites the dust.

The New Year is not turning out like I had hoped. Next time I agree to house sit I need to ask if there are pets.
